Vila Monte Farmhouse

This blog is a little overdue but perhaps timely for all of you who might be thinking about a weekend break or 2024 holidays.
You might recall in May this year I hosted an influencer trip to Portugal in early June. We stayed at Octant Vila Monte Farmhouse https://www.vilamonte.octanthotels.com
not far from a fishing Village, Fuseta, about 30 mins from Faro airport.
The trip was a huge success and I know the girls got so many comments and interest in the hotel so here goes.....

Situated not far from Fuseta, also known as Fuzeta, is a charming traditional fishing  town located in the Algarve region of southern Portugal. It is situated in the eastern part of the Algarve, not far from Olhão. Fuseta is known for its picturesque scenery, beautiful beaches, and traditional Portuguese fishing village atmosphere. You must go to the one of the typical fish restaurants in Fuseta where they grill the fish in the traditional way on an open BBQ - truly delicious.

Some key highlights of Fuseta:

  1. Fuseta Beach (Praia da Fuseta): This is a lovely sandy beach with calm waters, making it a popular spot for swimming and sunbathing. It's a family-friendly beach and has facilities like restaurants and cafes.

One of the most charming things about the hotel are the staff.  Everyone is so welcoming and warm. Always interested in how you are an anything they can do to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

Lots of excursions are available to book and if you fancy a romantic picnic on the beach, the hotel arranges this in the most chic ay. Collection at the hotel and a speed boat to a near remote beach with stunning gazebos set up for shade and lunch set up by a charming waiter who stays to look after you. Maybe the highlight of my last last visit. 

 

The food was exceptional. Great light dishes and the wood burning pizza fire on all day for this who fancy something wholesome. Lots of great traditional food choices with emphasis  put on farm to table dishes. Also an amazing wine list featuring lots of local and regional Portuguese wines.

 

Vila Monte could not be more perfect for weekend get away with  regular flights from all UK airports to Faro and a 20 minute taxi ride from the airport. Rates come down substantially in low season and Portuguese sun shines all year round.

Might also be worth looking at the other hotels in the Octant Group. I haven't visited  but if Vila Monte is anything to go by, I'm going to try to visit a few of the others. https://www.octanthotels.com
